And that flat downstream water on the Oak is just tougher to fish period except for good float techniques or cast/retrieve. The Oak Orchard Harbor is in the process of being dredged which started last week (8/25) and is expected to finished mid September. The fish are going to turn on and off there so persistence is the name of the game and long and light presentations. A spate of water there too might drop back fish to downstream spots where guys are drifting and also bring on the last of the fresh run fish. The area has been in a bit of a warmup since the end of the past weekend. Look for flows maintained around the slightly high/slightly stained for now. With the heavy rains we received the past week and more on the way it doesnt look like it will be coming down anytime soon. That good run of Kings in the Oak from end of last week has spread out nearest the dam, but guys are finding pods of spawning fish in the downstream fast water reaches.
